CouncillorJoe Lonergan MBE - Chairman

With his wife Anne, Joe Lonergan has lived in Ravenshead since 1978 and has been Chairman of the Ravenshead Parish Council since its formation in 1987. Joe was the Nottinghamshire County Councillor for Ravenshead for 16 years from 1993 to 2009. He is a member of the Village Hall Management Committee, Byron Probus, Community Care Forum, Newstead Village Liaison Group and Vice Chairman of the Papplewick and Linby Branch of the Royal British Legion. He is a local School Governor of 20 years standing. Joe is President of the Sherwood Conservative Association and a Vice President of the Ravenshead Linby and Papplewick Branch. Joe`s appointment as MBE was announced in the 1984 Honours List.

Councillor Chris Barnfather - Vice Chairman

Chris Barnfather has been a resident of Ravenshead since 1985. Chris is married with three daughters two of whom are attending the Joseph Whitaker School where Chris is Chairman of Governors. He is also a Governor at Abbey Gates Primary. He is a member of the National Conservative Party, Membership Secretary of the Ravenshead, Linby and Papplewick Branch and an attendee of the Sherwood Constituency Political Forum. In 2007 Chris was elected to the Gedling Borough Council and to the Ravenshead Parish Council where he is now Vice Chairman then in 2009 he was elected to the Nottinghamshire County Council. Chris retired from the Nottingham Police in 2004 holding the rank of Detective Superintendent.

Councillor David Evans - Chariman Finance

David Evans has lived in Ravenshead with his wife Christine since 1979. They have two married children who were both locally educated. David was first elected to the Ravenshead Parish Council in 1995 and was Chairman of the Ravenshead Linby and Papplewick Branch of the Sherwood Conservative Association until 2009. David is a keen golfer and serves as Chairman of the Committee at his club in Alfreton.

Councillor Bruce Andrews - Chairman Planning

Bruce Andrews was co-opted to the Parish Council in February 2008 having previously served from 1989 till 1995. He has lived in Ravenshead with his wife Patricia who is also a Parish Councillor since 1976 and has a son and a daughter. His main interest is cricket for which he is a qualified coach. Bruce is a member of the Newstead Cricket Club, a founder member of the Ravenshead Lawn Tennis Club and the Ravenshead Investment Club.

Councillor Patricia Andrews

Patricia Andrews and her husband Bruce have lived in Ravenshead since 1976. When her son and daughter were growing up, Patricia sat on committees such as the PTA, under 3's and the NSPCC for which she organised annual house-to-house collections over a ten year period. Patricia has been a Ravenshead Parish Councillor since 1999 and was elected in 2007 as the District Councillor for the Newstead Ward of Gedling Borough Council. In 2010 Patricia was elected to the office of Deputy Mayor.

Councillor Molly Bell

Molly Bell has lived in Ravenshead with her husband Graham since 1973 she has a teaching qualification and their three sons were educated locally. All their sons are married and Molly takes great delight her 7 grandchildren. She is the Coordinator of Ravenshead Ready Call and a Director of Ravenshead Day Centre, which operates the Cornwater and Thursday Clubs. She has been a Ravenshead Parish Councillor since 2003 and was closely involved in the development of the Village Plan, chairing The Future of Ravenshead Action Group. She also chairs the Community Care Forum, which organises the Village Information Events and the Ravenshead Directory. Molly and Graham are the Senior Leaders of Ashwood Church.

Councillor Ian Crowe

Ian is married with two sons and two grandchildren. He has been resident in the village since 1971 having retired from a Directorship of a local textile company which he held for 20 years. He has been a Ravenshead Parish Councillor since 1999 serving as the Footpaths Officer, he is a member of the Village Hall Committee and Chairman of the Ravenshead Community Transport Committee where he is also a voluntary driver. Councillor Geoff Dunn

Geoff Dunn served 25 years in the Royal Air Force, leaving in 1972 to join a Nottingham manufacturing company as Director of the Service Department. In 2001 he moved to Ravenshead from West Bridgford where he and his wife had a hotel. Geoff sits on several village committees which include the Ravenshead Linby and Papplewick Conservatives, and Ravenshead Neighbourhood Watch. He was also a Governor at Abbey Gates Primary school. Geoff was elected as a Ravenshead Parish Councillor in 2007 and is the Volunteers co-ordinator at the Ravenshead Police Contact Point.

Councillor Colin Powell

Colin Powell is a retired Accountant and Company Director and with his wife Ann has lived in Ravenshead since 1969. They have one daughter Helen who is now married. Colin has been a member of the Parish Council since 2003 and has been a Governor of Ravenshead Church of England Primary School since 2003. Colin was elected as a Gedling Borough Councillor in 2007. He is also a member of the Patient Participation Group and his hobbies include gardening, golf, walking and playing skittles in the Ravenshead league.

Councillor Hugh Stoddart

Hugh and his wife Pamela have lived in Ravenshead since 1984, He had a managerial post with HSBC Bank from which he took early retirement in 1996 since then he has worked for a franchise business based in Mansfield. Hugh is a committee member of the Ravenshead Linby and Papplewick Branch of the Sherwood Conservative Association. He has a keen interest in local issues our growing community and its widespread interests.

Councillor Carol Wright

Carol Wright, originally from London has lived in Ravenshead since 1979. She has been a Ravenshead Parish Councillor since 1995 where she has taken particular interest in our Childrens' play areas and the quality of the equipment we provide. Carol was formerly a Local Government Officer and Editorial Assistant for 10 years at CHAD publications. From 1992 - 2010 she was employed as the Office Manager for the MP for Sherwood Parliamentary Constituency.
